Finland: Woman Is Arrested After 5 Babies’ Bodies Are Found
oulu The Finnish police said Wednesday that they had arrested a 35-year-old woman on suspicion of manslaughter after finding the bodies of five babies in an apartment building in the western city of Oulu. Officers found the bodies Tuesday in a basement cupboard there after being notified by emergency workers.

Detective Superintendent Seppo Leinonen said the woman told officers the babies had been stillborn at home between five and 10 years ago. He did not identify her beyond saying she was a local Finnish woman, married with children, who had moved into the building a few months earlier. He said no other relatives were suspected.
