WOMAN 98 STRANGLES 100 YEAR OLD ROOM MATE
  • FULL SCREEN VERSION HERE

  • A 98-year-old Massachusetts woman has been charged with second-degree murder for allegedly suffocating her 100-year-old nursing home room-mate.

Laura Lundquist is accused of killing Elizabeth Barrow, who was found dead in her room in Dartmouth in September with a plastic bag over her head. Police initially thought Ms Barrow had killed herself but a medical examiner declared it murder after a post-mortem indicated she had been strangled.

Ms Lundquist had frequently complained that her room-mate had too many visitors, according to Mrs Barrow's son. "We're devastated," Scott Barrow told a local TV station. "My mother was well-loved. She loved everyone at the nursing home.

"She had a daily routine where she would go up and down the hallway and hug people who weren't as fortunate as she." A state judge ordered Ms Lundquist to a local hospital where doctors will evaluate her competency before she is arraigned, according to local media.

She is believed to be the oldest murder defendant in the history of Massachusetts. However, her case may never get to court because of her mental condition.

FRENCH MOTHER TORTURED CHILD BEFORE MURDERING HER
anne sophie faucheur Brutality, lies, and the tragedy of 'la petite Typhaine'

For six months, the parents of Typhaine Taton maintained that she had been abducted. Then an even more horrific story emerged France has been stunned by the fate of la petite Typhaine, a little girl lost in a disturbing saga of parental brutality, brazen lies and the failings of the social safeguards which are meant to protect children. The case, which bears striking similarities to the death of Baby P and the false abduction of Shannon Matthews, revolves around Typhaine, a five-year- old with a cheeky round face. She was reported to have been abducted from under her mother's nose on 14 June. According to her mother, Anne-Sophie Faucheur, 24, the little girl "vanished in the space of a second" as she ran a few yards ahead of her on the streets of Maubeuge, a depressed industrial town in northern France.

When the investigation made no progress, Ms Faucheur gave a tearful press conference in which she accused the police of feet-dragging and incompetence. "One thing is sure," she said, sobbing in front of the TV cameras. "We will get her back. We miss her so much. She is in our hearts always." Sitting beside her, nodding in sympathy, was her partner, Nicolas Willot, Typhaine's stepfather, who is also 24. This week, almost six months later, Willot, a hospital porter and voluntary fireman, led French and Belgian police to Typhaine's shallow grave in woodland in south central Belgium, 50 miles from their home. A few days earlier he told French investigators that Typhaine had died after she was hurled naked into a cold shower by her mother. This was, he said, a punishment for wetting the bed – a punishment that "went wrong".

Ms Faucheur at first insisted that there had been an "accident in the shower". She later confessed that her partner's version was correct. The case is one of a series in recent years involving child abuse or extreme neglect amongst poor white French families, especially in the depressed ex-industrial towns of northern France. The case has also revived disturbing memories for the people of Belgium. The body of little Typhaine was found close to the village of Marcinelle, once the home of the convicted child murderer, Marc Dutroux. Mr Willot told police the girl had frequently been "tortured" by her mother and that she had become the "whipping child of the family" (which included an older sister and a baby half-sister).

If so, Typhaine's martyrdom had not lasted long. One of the most disturbing facts of the case is that Ms Faucheur had herself kidnapped her daughter from outside a kindergarten in Lille only five months before. Until then, the little girl had been living with her paternal grandmother and her natural father, François Taton. No attempt was made by the French legal system or social services or Mr Taton himself to reclaim the child. When Ms Faucheur and Mr Taton separated four years earlier, they had agreed informally to take one daughter each. Typhaine had gone with her father and her mother is said to have hardly known her before turning up at the school gates in Lille. Ms Faucheur abducted the child by telling teachers that Typhaine's father was ill and could not come to collect her. Awkward questions are now being asked about why nothing was done to challenge Ms Faucheur's action, or at least investigate Typhaine's well-being in her new home. Raphael Théry, a lawyer representing Typhaine's father, said that his client had decided to accept the situation because "he placed his confidence in the mother. If a mother comes to claim her child, you imagine it is to give her affection and love".

It is now believed that Typhaine had been dead for four days before her disappearance was reported to police. Her body was kept for at least two days in the cellar of the family house at Aulnoye-Aymeries, near Maubeuge. While Typhaine's body still lay in the cellar, her mother invited friends and family to a restaurant to celebrate the christening of her baby daughter. When they asked why Typhaine was not there, Ms Faucheur said that the little girl had been left at home to watch videos in case her natural father "took advantage of the party" to steal her back. Willot explained to police that he had loaded the dead child into his van when he set out on one of his frequent trips across the border to Belgium to buy cheaper petrol. His choice of a burial place near the village once inhabited by Marc Dutroux, convicted in 2004 for multiple child murders, is believed to be a macabre coincidence.

The websites of French newspapers have been flooded with messages expressing shock at the "cold-blooded cheek" of the child's mother, who "made us all believe in her suffering". But many messages also query the legal and social welfare systems' failure to see the danger signs. The same questions are being asked by investigators and local politicians. "It is easy to be wise after the event but there was a disturbing pattern," said one politician, who asked not be named. "Apart from the unchallenged abduction by her mother, there was the fact that Typhaine did not go to school and was rarely seen outside the house." Even now, investigators are not convinced they have uncovered the full facts of the case. They fear that both mother and stepfather may have systematically mistreated Typhaine. For the time being, the couple have been accused of "mistreatment causing accidental death". A postmortem examination on the child's body will attempt to decide whether her injuries point to something more deliberate.

  • BODY IN SUITCASE SYDNEY MOTHER JAILING FOR MURDERING 2 YR OLD SON
sydney bridge A Sydney woman who choked her two-year-old son and stuffed his body in a suitcase has been sentenced to at least 19 years' jail.

Rachel Pfitzner, 28, pleaded guilty to killing Dean Shillingsworth in October 2007.

The NSW Supreme Court heard that Pfitzner held the child up by the hood of his jumper until he began to choke, then threw him to the floor. She later wrapped his body in plastic before stuffing it in the suitcase, which she dumped in a duck pond at Ambarvale in Sydney's south-west. The suitcase was later found by a group of children.

The court heard that she loathed and punished the boy, and that he reminded her of her former partner. A victim impact statement from the boy's grandmother described how the child feared Pfitzner. The court was also told that Pfitzner felt her son was constantly provoking her, and that she told people she could not wait for him to be taken away.

Pfitzner's lawyer told the court that a comment she allegedly made about wanting to kill the child, rather than hand him over to his grandmother, should not be taken into consideration. But the prosecutor argued there was no evidence to prove that Pfitzner did not make the comment. In sentencing Pfitzner to at least 19 years' jail, Justice Robert Hulme referred to her drug abuse and problems with anger management. Pfitzner cried at times in the dock as she was sentenced.

  • BULLYING LABOUR'S AMBASSADOR FOR WOMEN AT WORK
glenda stone RADICAL FEMINISTS ARE THE BIGGEST BULLIES OF ALL
She got through 27 secretaries in TWO years and reduced staff to tears every day. Meet Labour's ambassador for women at work

Just how many not-up-to-the-job PAs can there be in London? One has to wonder if Dr Glenda Stone ever asked herself that question. The high flying businesswoman got through 27 personal assistants in two years, to the point that when anyone visited her office she would roll her eyes, point to the desk nearest hers and say - with a peculiar pride, by all accounts - 'we call this desk the revolving door'.

Now you could argue, as she doubtless would, that Dr Stone's standards were simply higher than most. OK, so she presented each new PA with a terrifyingly detailed daily schedule which started '8.55am - turn lights on', but few entrepreneurs have made it to the top without a bit of control freakery. And Dr Stone had definitely made it to the top. The Porsche 911 she drove said so. So did the Gucci shoe habit and the six-figure salary she paid herself. So successful was she deemed in her specialist area of business - ironically, a 'female friendly' recruitment company - that the Prime Minister himself had asked her to head his task force promoting women in business. You can see why.

Dr Stone was sassy, and media-savvy. She once wrote an article about equality in the work place, looking forward to a day when women returned to work immediately after having babies, and men stayed at home. She said it would herald 'landmark herstory' then added, 'oops - should that still be history?' One can shudder at her taste for puns, but her dedication to the sisterhood seemed clear. Well, unless that 'sister' worked for her, it now seems. Poor Janette King did. Despite having held down a previous job as an office manager in busy car mechanics factory for 16 years, she lasted all of two-and-a-half months before developing a nervous twitch. She went to see her GP, who immediately diagnosed a stress disorder brought on by bullying.

When Mrs King emailed Dr Stone to tell her what had happened, she was promptly told that she had failed her probationary period and would not be required to return to work. This week Glenda Stone's own 'herstory' was rewritten in quite dramatic form when she was exposed as a boss from hell in an employment tribunal. She was depicted as a harridan of a CEO, whose expectations of her own staff were less likely to empower them than leave them blubbering wrecks in the staff toilets or, worse, the doctor's surgery. The tribunal found that Dr Stone had well and truly crossed the line between demanding boss and tyrant, behaving in a way that was not just mean-spirited and unfair, but illegal.

She was ordered to pay £28,000 compensation to an employee after firing him following a heated row about his workload. The Central London tribunal found that she tried to force him to resign by threatening to reduce his salary by £15,000. When he refused, she spent 15 minutes on the internet finding out how to sack someone - then wrote him a letter saying he was to be made redundant. What is truly shocking, though, is the picture that was painted by her staff about how Glenda Stone - this great adviser on equality - 'micromanaged' and controlled her underlings from day to day. And it seems that what was heard in court was only the start of it.

    'Glenda's not a role model. She's a disgrace'

Of course, all successful business bosses have high standards - and rightly so. But the Mail has spoken to many of Dr Stone's ex-employees, who have spoken of a 'climate of fear' in which they were repeatedly shouted at, undermined and bullied. Some say they were questioned for spending too long in the toilet; others for simply talking to their colleagues. Many talked of having to communicate with each other via Post-It notes because they believed their emails were being monitored. The stress of operating to Stone's exacting - some might say eccentric - standards drove some 'to the point of madness'.

Janette King isn't the one who blew the whistle, but her account of working for Stone encapsulates exactly what the problem was. 'Her level of micro-management was amazing,' she says. 'I had a daily schedule and every minute of the day was accounted for. There would be six minutes to open the post, another three minutes for another task. 'If I finished something early, I liked to get on with the next thing, but she would see what I was doing and emailed me once saying: 'Why are you doing this task at this time'?

'Nothing was ever good enough for her, and she would shout and call me unprofessional routinely. 'When I had to draft a letter for her, she would go back and change it. I would take it back to her, and she would put more red pen on it. It was like being back at school and you could never get it right. No one could.

'When she went for meetings she would always have a map printed out, with where the meeting was circled on it, so she could see how to get there from the tube station. 'Once she called me from Euston Station asking why I hadn't given her a map. I said I had, and it was in the same place it always was, but she said she meant a map of the station so she could see how to get to the taxi rank.' Not exactly 'female-friendly' then?

'She's not a role model,' Mrs King concludes. 'She's a disgrace.'

Another ex-employee - who declined to be named - pointed out the irony of Dr Stone receiving a honorary doctorate (from Leeds Metropolitan University) and other accolades for promoting the cause of women, 'when the bottom line is that I don't think she likes women very much at all'.

'She is very bright, but I've seen her crush people'

In the end, it was actually a man who finally forced Mrs Stone to be held to account. David Collier, 44, who was one of seven full-time staff in the office, brought the action after working for Dr Stone for two-and-a-half years. A successful businessman, he had worked in the Middle East for some years, but on return to the UK, with a wife and young child to support, was urgently in need of a job.

He accepted a job as a PA to Stone, on a salary of £25,000, but quickly worked his way up the ladder at her company Aurora, to become project co-ordinator, earning £40,000. He too was subjected to the hectoring and bullying Mrs King talks of.

'It was every day. I saw her bully the men, but I saw her absolutely pulverise the women,' he says. 'To people outside, she was a successful women who carried herself well, but what she did to her own staff was mental abuse. 'The website Aurora runs is called wheretowork.com, but we used to call it wherenottowork.com. We would be talking to HR directors of the biggest companies in the world about how people should treat their employees, but at the same time were working in this shadow of fear. There was an atmosphere of tension at all times. 'There was not one employee that I did not see cry when I was there. Every day there would be at least one person dabbing their eyes. There was no joy, no banter. I think I was praised just twice when I was there.

'We didn't dare talk to each other, or communicate via email, because she would monitor everything. 'There was solidarity between us - we were all going through the same thing with her - but it couldn't be overt. If I was going to the toilet I would drop a Post-It note with a smiley face on it on a desk as I went past.' It was an environment from which people were simply desperate to escape.

'Of the 11 people who passed through when I was there, ten left under a cloud and with no job to go to,' Mr Collier says. Even those who would have classed themselves as friends (and fans) of Glenda Stone have told us of the terror with which she ran her empire. Ruth Minhall, 35, from Canterbury, Kent, was a salesperson at Aurora for almost three years, leaving after the birth of her first son. She describes her time working for Dr Stone as 'a character-defining experience which I would not repeat'. 'I would never put myself through it again. Now, I would walk out on the first day. The irony is that I took the job because I was so impressed with her at the interview. You can't argue with her work ethic.

'Although she is a pain in the neck and her management style is lacking, she is determined and hard-working. I have a lot of respect for her business ability and her drive, but I have seen her crush people. Glenda is an incredibly bright woman, but lacking in empathy and impossible to please. 'I was told I wasn't professional, I wasn't doing my job. After the first five months it didn't faze me, but it destroyed a lot of people. I saw people being made to feel mad. The average member of staff lasted five months. One PA's best friend died, and she asked on the Tuesday to have the following Monday off to go to the funeral. On the Friday, Glenda still hadn't got back to her letting her know if it was OK. In the end, she just walked out.'

So who is Dr Stone, and how on earth did she convince the Government that she was qualified to advise others on management issues? A gregarious blonde, she was born in Australia and worked as a teacher before embarking on a government career in Queensland Education Department, the Cabinet Office, and HM Treasury.

'I grew up living in suburbia and much of my drive comes from wanting never to go back. It was so dull,' she once explained. 'My father ran an estate agency where my mother worked, and although we were comfortably off, they did not believe in flashing their money about.' She was very different - money obsessed and proud of it. She has given interviews about her love of Gucci clothes and shoes and once said: 'What I love about being successful is the fact that you can treat yourself - our next goal is to own our own boat. 'People may say they're not in it for the money, but to become a millionaire you have to be money driven or you'd stay running a small business from your bedroom for ever. It's highly addictive.

'I had to resign to preserve my sanity'

'I pay myself a six-figure salary and I'm personally worth more than the business. Being successful gives you power and choice: having my own business means no one can tell me what to do.' She met her husband - and business partner - Leigh in Greece, marrying him after a whirlwind romance. Their son Conrad was born in 2007. The couple settled in London, setting up their business Busygirl. It was later renamed Aurora Gender Capital Management Limited, and eventually shortened to Aurora GCM Ltd. Aurora, of course, was the Roman goddess of the dawn - a symbol of powerful and successful women and seemingly ideal for Glenda's 'female-friendly' vision.

While Leigh provided the finance expertise, Stone provided the vision. The company's website boasts that it 'provides femalefocused corporate HR software and marketing services to over 100 bluechip clients', and its boss was a skilled self-promoter. Some particularly gushing biographical notes seemed to suggest she had actually invented the idea of women in the workplace. 'Glenda Stone is pure inspiration for anyone who wants to break into the corporate world. She created a whole new market for women in business, a sector that never existed until she made it happen,' it read. Still, she was convincing. Even her own staff were, at first, persuaded. One former account manager, who did not want to be named, tells us: 'Glenda hit a nerve by getting on the pro-women bandwagon, which was a big thing at that time.

'I joined Aurora because I was passionate about women in history and admire female entrepreneurs.' This woman managed nine months on the Aurora payroll, even missing her first wedding anniversary out of loyalty to Stone, before it all ended in recrimination. 'You could never do anything right. Once, I went to the loo because I had a stomach upset. When I got back, Glenda was asking where I'd been for a long time. It made me feel so worried that I'd spent too long there. I missed my first wedding anniversary because I had to go to a conference at the last minute and was told it would be good for my career if I did so.

'But by the end of my time with her I was suffering from depression and my doctor said: "This is not good for you". Glenda questioned my performance and said that she was going to have to reduce my salary. In the end, I told her I would have to seek legal advice over some comments she made to me and she just said: "Clear your desk, and get out".' An astonishing aspect of this case was that even being related to Dr Stone did not prevent some employees being bullied. Candy Dibley, 36, is actually her sister-in-law, but she too was made redundant.

Mrs Dibley did not choose to give evidence at the tribunal, but was forced to by a court order. She wept as she told the tribunal there had been a 'disagreement' on February 10 this year, and she had walked out of the office, telling Dr Stone that the way she was being asked to do her job was 'not right'. Two days later, she was made redundant, she said, by which time she felt 'relieved' about it. Pressed on Stone's management style, she described it as 'different to anything else I had ever experienced. Quite closely managed. Micro-management would be the correct terminology.'

Those who witnessed the pressure Stone piled on her sister-in-law are less reticent about what Mrs Dibley had to deal with on a daily basis. 'Candy had the worst of it,' recalls Mr Collier. 'Glenda and Leigh would have arguments where they would tell Candy she was useless. There was nothing constructive about it. It was full-on abuse.

'Candy would be in pieces, crying a lot. She absolutely hated it.'

Another former employee, Marianna Karas, 35, told the tribunal that the fact the two bosses were married to each other made a bad situation ten times worse. 'Glenda and Leigh are husband and wife. This was not an issue to begin with, until it became clear that both brought their personal matters into the office, arguing abusively and openly in front of others.' She, too, could only put up with so much. 'In the end, I just decided to cut my losses, keep my sanity, and resign.'

And so it might have continued, had Mr Collier not decided that enough was enough. He claims that Stone's fearsome reputation was common knowledge even outside the office, and that at least one temping agency refused to place staff with her, so frequently did it all end in tears. He claims 15 former colleagues got in touch to support him in the legal action against Dr Stone.

It's all a far cry from the accolade she was awarded last year - the inaugural Australia Woman of the Year in the UK. Back home in Australia, Dr Stone was understandably feted. 'This Brisbane woman has risen high,' crowed her local newspaper. Only now has anyone thought to ask how many other women, and men, were trampled underfoot in that giddying ascent.

  • THE GOVERNMENT FEMINIST WHO DERIDES THE NUCLEAR FAMILY
katherine rake Katherine Rake, who yesterday said the days of the 'typical family' are numbered, is a hard-line feminist brought in last summer to head the Family and Parenting Institute, the state-funded mouthpiece on family life.

Her appointment appeared to toughen the organisation's long standing mission to belittle marriage and denigrate the traditional two-parent family. Crop-haired Dr Rake, 41, was for seven years the figurehead of the feminist pressure group, the Fawcett Society, where she declared her ambition was 'to transform the most intimate and private relations between women and men'. A key figure in her appointment appears to have been the woman who has chaired the Family and Parenting Institute for five years: Fiona Millar, former aide to Cherie Blair and partner of Tony Blair's former spokesman Alastair Campbell.

Dr Rake is a grammar-school girl from Canterbury who became a notable academic before gravitating to feminist activism. Her own family background suffered disruption. Her father divorced from her mother – the first of his three wives – when Katherine was 18, about the time she went up to the London School of Economics. Dr Rake lectured in social studies at the LSE and in Paris before taking an advisory role at the Cabinet Office's Women's Unit in 1999. Since she took over as director of the Fawcett Society, it has become a prominent and persistent voice protesting over the pay gap between men and women.

When critics say the pay gap exists largely because women who have children usually slacken their career efforts to spend time looking after them, Dr Rake says men should take over the responsibility for raising children. Last year she was awarded an OBE for services to equal opportunities. Despite her disapproval of state support for marriage and the traditional family, she lives in South London with her husband, a commercial manager on the Guardian newspaper, and four-year-old son. The FPI has always been anxious to talk down the institution of marriage. Dr Rake is merely the latest and loudest broadcaster of a message which has been pumped out by the organisation for a decade.

The institute was launched by Home Secretary Jack Straw in 1999 with £2million of start-up money from the taxpayer. Its first action was to publish an opinion poll which asserted that only one in five people thought having married parents was important for children. Its second was to host a speech by Mr Straw in which he told his audience 'don't panic' over the decay of marriage. FPI regularly promotes themes beloved of the children's rights lobby: for example there have been reports calling for tight restrictions on prosecutions of any criminals under 16 and advising parents that they should never shout at their children.

As long ago as 2000 it responded favourably to the suggestion that the Government should abandon support for two-parent families and instead pump cash into childcare. Its then chief Mary Macleod said it was 'time to find new ways of addressing the balance between work and family life'. The organisation remains firmly in the grip of state funding and Labour thinking. It was given more than £1.4million by the taxpayer last year, mainly through Ed Balls's Department of Children, Schools and Families.

  • FEMALE PAEDOPHILES NOW COMING OUT OF THE WOODWORK
madeleine martin Married RE teacher Madeleine Martin jailed after seducing schoolboy, 15, on Facebook

Abuse of trust: Madeleine Martin seduced the boy she was meant to mentor
A married teacher who had sex with one of her 15-year-old pupils after seducing him on Facebook has been jailed. Madeleine Martin, 39, had sex with the boy in the back of her car in a country park, at a shopping centre and inside the mother of two's family home during a brief relationship. The religious education teacher also persuaded the pupil to have her name tattooed on his arm after they became involved when she was assigned to mentor him at an all-boys school.

She was yesterday jailed for 32 months and put on the Sex Offenders Register after admitting ten counts of sexual activity with a child under 16. Manchester Crown Court heard how Martin fell for the boy after she was assigned to help him with his difficulties with school work last year. She began giving him gifts, including a mobile phone, and contacting him on Facebook.

One of Martin's messages read: 'Sorry, I cannot add you [as a friend on the website] until you leave school.' Martin also tried to get the boy into her form at the Manchester school and wrote 'Don't worry, I always got your back' after she lied on his behalf when he missed detention. By January, they were sending each other up to ten messages a day and the following month their relationship became more intimate.

The court heard that on February 9 Martin drove the boy to a tattoo parlour where she persuaded and paid for him to have a heart, with the name 'Mad' inside it, put on his arm. She then drove to a nearby retail park where they had sex in the car and Martin performed a sex act on the boy, before they were spotted and asked to leave by a security guard.

The next day, Martin drove to Daisy Nook Country Park near Oldham where she and the boy, whose mother was abroad at the time caring for her terminally ill father, again engaged in sexual activity. Two days later they had sex again at the empty home of the boy's uncle. Martin, from Knutsford in Cheshire, then changed her identity on Facebook to hide their growing relationship and invited the boy to her home where they again had sex while her two teenage daughters, aged 14 and 17, were out.

  • REPORTER OVERTURNS COURT GAG IN CHILD CRUELTY CASE
rebecca stevenson A North West crime reporter successfully challenged a court gagging order in his first attempt at overturning reporting restrictions. Despite a press bench comprising Press Association, ITV, ITN and national media freelance journalists, the Lancashire Telegraph's Sam Chadderton was the only reporter to question the order at Preston Crown Court.

The media was gathered in the Lancashire city to cover the high-profile sentencing of Rebecca Stevenson, the 22-year-old who previously admitted cruelty charges after leaving her four young children home alone to go on a 24-hour drink and drugs binge in July. Stevenson's children, who had been conceived to three different men, were aged four, three, one and three months at the time of abandonment and she was handed a suspended prison sentence on Monday.

At an earlier hearing, a judge had imposed a Section 39 order under the 1933 Children and Young Persons Act which prevents publication of anything which could identify a minor. Sam had compiled a letter citing case history in support of his application and also drew the Judge Norman Wright's attention to guidelines issued by the Judicial Studies Board. To complete his application, Sam attached extracts from McNae's Essential Law for Journalists citing examples of 'unreasonable orders'. The judge considered Sam's application prior to the hearing.

Addressing the court, the judge said: "Matters should be free to be reported in the press. My only concern is that the children may suffer from that being reported. "Only the eldest child has given me pause for thought. Balancing all factors, I'm confident she won't be affected. The Section 39 order is discharged."

Sam, who joined the Telegraph from the Chorley Guardian in September, said: "Examples of previously overturned Section 39 orders in McNae's in similar cases cite an 18-month old girl and an 11-month old baby. "But with the eldest child now aged five and having just started primary school, I thought it was a 50-50 decision.

"The judge took representations from the prosecuting solicitor, Richard Bennett, who argued lifting the Section 39 order would have a negative effect on the eldest child, however the judge found in my favour. "It was quite nerve racking having to make my representations to the judge and I was both delighted and surprised to get it lifted." Lancashire Telegraph group editor Kevin Young said: "It is to Sam's immense credit that he got this order lifted, particularly as he was the only journalist alongside national colleagues to make an application.

"He produced a succinct and persuasive note which ensured Stevenson could be rightly named and shamed for her, in the judge's words, 'complete dereliction of duty'."

  • MOTHER GOES ON 24 HOUR DRINKING BINGE LEAVING FOUR TODDLERS ALONE
  • 15 YEAR OLD GIRL CHARGED WITH MURDER OF 9 YEAR OLD ELIZABETH OLTEN
alyssa bustamante JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Blessed with a Friday off school, 15-year-old Alyssa Bustamante dug two holes in the ground to be used as a grave, authorities said. For the next week, she attended classes, all the while plotting the right time for a murder, they said.

That time arrived the evening of Oct. 21, when Bustamante strangled 9-year-old neighbor Elizabeth Olten without provocation, cut the girl's throat and stabbed her, prosecutors said. Why?

"Ultimately, she stated she wanted to know what it felt like," Missouri State Highway Patrol Sgt. David Rice testified Wednesday during a court hearing over the slaying. Rice, who interviewed Bustamante in the days after Elizabeth's disappearance, said she confessed to investigators and led them to the fourth-grader's well-concealed body in a wooded area near their neighborhood in St. Martins, a small town west of Jefferson City.

A Cole County judge ruled Wednesday that Bustamante, who has been held in Missouri's juvenile justice system, should be tried as an adult. Hours later, the teen was indicted on adult charges of first-degree murder and armed criminal action for allegedly using a knife to kill Elizabeth. A judge later entered a not guilty plea on Bustamante's behalf and referred her to the public defender's office. The court proceedings marked the first time that the suspect in Elizabeth's death had been publicly identified since a two-day search for the girl by hundreds of volunteers. When they found Elizabeth's body Oct. 23, authorities only said that a 15-year-old had led them to it and was in custody for the slaying.

Bustamante remained largely expressionless as she sat with her hands shackled around her waist in court Wednesday. She occasionally looked down beneath the brown bangs that covered her eyes and swallowed hard as a judge read the charges against her. On one side of the courtroom sat her mother and grandmother, who has been Bustamante's legal guardian for about half of her life. On the other side sat Elizabeth's mother, relatives and friends, several of whom wore pink — Elizabeth's favorite color.

Bustamante was ordered held without bond pending her trial. If convicted of first-degree murder, she would be sentenced to life in prison without parole.

  • GIRL '5' SOLD FOR PROSTITUTION BY MOTHER FOUND DEAD
    antoinette davis

Girl, 5, 'sold for sex by her mother' discovered dead at the side of a U.S. road

A missing five-year-old girl allegedly sold into prostitution by her mother has been found dead, it was revealed this morning. Shaniya Davis had been missing since November 10 after she was last seen being carried into a hotel room by a man. FBI agents and U.S. Marshalls joined the nationwide search for the toddler amid fears she had been sold to a paedophile ring.

Police have charged the girl's mother, Antoinette Davis, with human trafficking and prostitution offences. An arrest warrant issued for the 25-year-old said she allowed her daughter to be taken 'with the intent that she be held in sexual servitude.' Davis, who is pregnant, first reported her daughter missing last Tuesday.

Police were suspicious of her story after reviewing a timeline of the events leading up to her disappearance from a trailer park in Fayetteville, North Carolina. They later found CCTV footage from a hotel 40 miles from Fayetteville showing the five year old girl being carried into a hotel room by Mario McNeill. She had not been seen since and her mother has refused to cooperate with police.

The girl had only been living with Davis for three weeks, according to her father Bradley Lockhart. He had primary custody of the girl, but had agreed to let her stay with her mother after she found a place to live and held a job for six months. Lockhart broke down in tears at a press conference last night when he sobbed: 'Everybody makes it a point not to ignore, to look past a situation where a person, a child, or anybody might be in danger ... so that we don't have another tragedy like Shaniya.’

He said authorities have given him limited information, but he was to meet with them later. ‘It's not the result I wanted, it's not the result any father or family would want for their children,’ he said. ‘But God has a greater calling for all of us.’

Police have not charged anyone with molesting Shaniya, but said the investigation is ongoing. The man accused of taking her, Mario Andrette McNeill, turned himself in on Friday. Police said he admitted to kidnapping the child and has been charged. CCTV footage shows Shaniya in the company of McNeill near a hotel on the day she was kidnapped.

According to arrest documents, Davis 'knowingly provided Shaniya Davis with the intent that she be held in sexual servitude' and she 'permitted an act of prostitution’. Shaniya's half-sister, Cheyenne Lockhart, spoke on the U.S. talkshow Nancy Grace on Monday. She said that she found it difficult to believe Davis had treated her daughter so poorly.

‘She seemed like the sweetest woman. She didn't come from much, but ... she had the sweetest voice, she had the sweetest personality, and especially toward me,’ said Ms Lockhart, who shared a father with Shaniya. ‘I would never think that she would do anything like that.’ Their father said Shaniya went to her mother's home on October 9.

  • GOLD-DIGGER WHO FLEECED STRING OF ELDERLY MEN OUT OF £100,000 IS JAILED
lorraine upritchard A gold-digger who conned lonely widowers through suggestive lonely-hearts adverts before fleecing them of their savings has been jailed.

Lorraine Upritchard, 51, boasted of receiving more than 60 calls a day from the adverts placed in local newspapers in the South of England. Police say she pocketed at least £20,000, but fear the true figure could be as much as £100,000 if all the embarrassed victims were to come forward. Mrs Upritchard, who told her victims she was a widow but is actually married, kept a list of the men in a pink folder, marking potential victims by drawing a smiley face next to their name.

She described herself as a ‘lovely bubbly attractive blonde widow, 50, seeking mature gents aged 60-70 for caring friendships, relationships and maybe more’. She would befriend them with the promise the relationship could blossom, then make up sob stories to gain their confidence and cash. The conwoman was finally caught out after two years when she tricked 69-year-old Leonard Hesling out of £2,200 - giving him an IOU for the 'loan'.

When he realised she had disappeared with his cash, the angry widower hired a private eye to track her down before calling in the police. Detectives asked him to set up one final meeting and she was arrested as she waited for him outside a supermarket. When arrested she told police that she hated men and had taken the money because she was ‘down on her luck’.

She was bailed and went on the run but was tracked down to a room at the Hilton in Croydon, after texting another of her victims pretending to be working there. Mrs Upritchard, of Croydon, admitted skipping bail and two counts of deception and has a previous conviction for obtaining property by deception. She was given a community order and told she would be under supervision for 18 months.

Mrs Upritchard was also told to pay Mr Hesling £2,200 in compensation and attend a women's programme. But she breached the order imposed in 2007 by failing to attend probation appointments and has now been jailed for 12 months. Sentencing her at Lewes Crown Court in Sussex, Judge Richard Brown told Mrs Upritchard: ‘You frankly admit that you embarked on a scam to deceive lonely and vulnerable old men into believing you were a widow seeking men for relationships, in a similar position as you.

‘In fact your real plan was to obtain what monies you could from these men. ‘These sort of criminal acts are not only dishonest but extremely distressing for the victim. The fact you claim to hate men does not provide you with any excuse.’

DC Gary Baker said: ‘After two years justice has been done and this woman who preyed on vulnerable males and profited to the extent of thousands of pounds is finally behind bars. 'Hopefully that can bring some closure for the many victims of her crimes of her crimes, both those who have come forward and those who have not.’ Mr Hesling was unavailable for comment.

  • MOTHER GOES ON 24 HOUR DRINKING BINGE LEAVING FOUR TODDLERS ALONE
rebecca stevenson WOMEN'S AID WERE AS EVER UNAVAILABLE FOR COMMENT

A young mother who abandoned her four young children to go on a 24-hour drink and drug binge avoided jail today.

Rebecca Stevenson, 22, left her two sons and two daughters, aged between three months and four years, home alone to fend for themselves. It was with 'merciful good luck' that none of the children was seriously injured through her 'absolute dereliction' of duty, Preston Crown Court heard. Sentencing her to a 20-week jail term, suspended for two years, Judge Norman Wright said it was 'an appalling state of affairs' that she had preferred to satisfy her own personal gratification rather than care for her children.

Claude Knight of children's charity, Kidscape, said: 'The important message should be that the safety and welfare of children must come first and that anyone who puts them at grave risk could face a custodial sentence. 'It is not clear how a 20 week suspended sentence will help this young woman to understand the potentially tragic consequences of this type of dereliction of duty and responsibility as a parent. 'She will need to attend parenting classes and will require much support if she is ever to care for her children again.'

Stevenson said she put her children to bed at 8.30pm one evening in July this year and proceeded to drink a bottle of wine before further indulging in cider and cocaine when friends called round to her house. Then in 'a moment of madness' she told the court she left the children to their own devices as she went out to a house party. She later carried on drinking throughout the day at various pubs in the town before returning home at 10.30pm the following day.

Steven Wild, prosecuting, said the children were discovered at 10am that day when the defendant's stepfather called round to the property in Abraham Street. The eldest daughter was leaning out of the lounge window, was rain-soaked and had clearly been crying, he said. After climbing through the window he saw Stevenson's 'hysterical' one-year-old son in his cot upstairs.

The youngster was soaked in urine as was a three-month-old boy who was also covered in sick in his cot. An attempt had been made by the four-year-old girl to feed the baby after the children used dining room chairs to climb up to a kitchen cupboard and reach a tin of milk powder. 'There were kitchen knives and sharp objects on the sofa which were within reach of the children,' Mr Wild added.

'It is not clear how a 20 week suspended sentence will help this young woman to understand the potentially tragic consequences of this type of dereliction of duty and responsibility as a parent' The youngsters are now in the care of their grandparents with Stevenson allowed only supervised visits. Judge Wright told a tearful Stevenson: 'This was an appalling state of affairs. You left four children ranging from the ages of three months old to four years old to fend for themselves.

'We have all seen and been amused by Hollywood's Home Alone, of a much older child, but the consequences of children as young as these being left to fend for themselves are too dreadful to think about. 'The kitchen was a potential timebomb in terms of potential injury to children who were left unsupervised. 'They were left to fend for themselves because you had decided to go out for your own personal gratification, drinking and taking drugs.

'You went out and they were left alone and you should realise that with young children they come first. 'The message has to go out to other people in this predicament that if they do this there will be a custodial sentence.' He said she had failed to communicate her difficulties to the various agencies, but it was 'merciful good luck' that no serious injuries were caused to the children.

'It is a absolute and complete dereliction of your duty as the sole carer,' the judge said. 'I, like other members of the public, will be horrified at what happened but it is right that you do not have the care of your children and if you ever have them again it will be because you have had to prove yourself over a significant amount of time that you are fit to care for them.' The judge lifted reporting restrictions on naming the defendant in the interests of 'open justice'. Stevenson pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing to four counts of child cruelty.

The judge also imposed an eight-week curfew in which she will be not be allowed to leave her home between the hours of 8pm and 6am. Richard Bennett, defending Stevenson, said she was a 22-year-old with four young children by three different fathers who had found her life 'extremely difficult and distressful'. He said: 'There can be no doubt that this young woman was under a great deal of stress.

'She was depressed because of the break-up of her long-term relationship with the father of the two boys.' The two-year relationship had ended eight months before she committed the offences, he said. In a letter to the judge, which was read out to the court, Stevenson explained that she was pregnant when she found out her partner had cheated on her.

That partner went on to marry her love rival around the time she gave birth to her youngest son, she added. During the pregnancy she was told there was a chance the baby could be born with Down's Syndrome but that did not happen. 'Luckily all was well in the end but it had a bad effect on my mental state,' she said.

Mr Bennett continued: 'The defendant, in a moment of madness, simply walked out the front door and ended up in a drinking session while the children had happily been discovered the following morning. 'She did not arrive back on the scene until about 10.30pm the following night.'

The case comes after figures released in the wake of the Baby P scandal revealed a shocking rise in child neglect. Two serious case reviews - inquiries launched following the death of a child where abuse or neglect are suspected - have been launched every week over the past six months.

  • FURY AS CHILD MINDING BABY KILLER IS PAID £4,500 BRIBE TO QUIT BRITAIN
An immigrant convicted of the horrific killing of a 17-month-old baby has been given £4,500 by the Government as a 'bribe' to leave the country. Malaysian Agnes Wong, 29, was jailed for five years in 2008 for the brutal manslaughter of a toddler she was supposed to be child-minding.

She was let out of prison in July this year, and two weeks ago was put on a plane at Heathrow and sent to Malaysia with a 'voucher' worth £4,500 to spend when she got there. Wong was jailed after a court heard how she had swung the boy, Hugo Wang, by his ankles and smashed his head. He died of brain injuries. Wong's payment has sparked disbelief and outrage, coming just days after the Prime Minister said he understood the public's mounting concerns over immigration.

Tory immigration spokesman Damian Green said: 'Only last week, Gordon Brown said he "gets it" on immigration but this is proof he doesn't get it. For an immigrant who killed a child to get taxpayers' money to help with her future life is nothing short of appalling.' Mr Green demanded to know why Wong had not been automatically deported without a penny of public money. 'Even while Labour repeatedly boasted about introducing automatic deportation for people like this, it now appears they have been using public money to help people get round that very system,' he said.

The horrific story of Hugo's last hours caused national revulsion when Wong's sadistic behaviour was exposed in court. The unregistered childminder, who came to the UK in 2003, was paid £120 a week to look after Hugo in her home in Salford, Greater Manchester, while the boy's parents worked 16 to 20 hours a day to make ends meet. She was accused of waging a 'regime of terror' against him, torturing him with a hairdryer and hitting him so hard with a ruler that it snapped.

Hugo died in January 2007, a day after he was taken, unconscious, to hospital where he underwent emergency surgery. He had been struck with such force that his brain had shifted in his skull and caused internal bleeding. Doctors also found bite and burn marks on his body. Wong, who denied murder, was found guilty of manslaughter but was sentenced in May 2008 to just five years in prison.

Wong served only the minimum jail term of two-and-half years, including her time in custody before and during the trial. Just two weeks ago, she was deported to Malaysia under a controversial 'Facilitated Returns Scheme' under which foreign prisoners are paid up to £5,000 if they agree to leave the UK as early as possible without fighting their deportation using human-rights laws or by claiming asylum. So far, around 1,000 have left the UK and been given the money.

It is not known for certain whether Wong - who used the anglicised name Agnes, although her Malaysian name is Siew Teng - entered Britain legally or illegally. However, any immigrant who commits a serious crime can forfeit their right to remain in Britain and can be deported. David Wood, the UK Border Agency's director of criminality and detention, defended the scheme, saying: 'We don't want foreign criminals in the UK. Every day that we can get these individuals out of the country early removes the risk they present to UK citizens and saves our taxpayers more than £100 a night in detention costs as well as administrative and court costs.' As Wong boarded a plane at Heathrow on November 2 bound for Kuala Lumpur, immigration officials handed her a letter confirming that she was entitled to a 'reintegration fund' payout of up to £4,500.

The letter informed her that the money, provided by UK taxpayers but administered by an international migration organisation, could be 'invested' in training for a new job, housing, education, medical treatment or to help set up a small business. The letter also advised Wong, who was kept in an immigration detention centre between her release from jail in July and her deportation earlier this month, how to claim the money. Hugo's parents, who were immigrants from China, both worked at the China City restaurant in Southport, where Liverpool football star Steven Gerrard is a regular.

Friends have now spoken of how Hugo's father, Jian Lin Situ, never got over the death of his son and how he had taken the baby's ashes back to China. They also voiced their anger that the boy's killer would get thousands of pounds of public money to build a new life. One said: 'It is an absolute disgrace that she has got this money. That sort of money will go a long way in Malaysia.' The friend recalled how Hugo's father had been distraught to learn that some of his son's body parts were initially retained by the coroner in case Wong appealed against her conviction.

'When Hugo died it was big in all the newspapers in China. We followed the proceedings and were all horrified by what happened to that poor boy,' said the friend. 'Jian and Hugo's mother Zhen split up soon after. I think they both blamed each other for their son's death. 'I think Zhen went back to China. Jian never got over Hugo's death. He was absolutely devastated. He took Hugo's ashes back to China, to the Canton district, the family's ancestral home. After that, Jian moved on to a restaurant in Liverpool. From there he went to another restaurant in Blackburn and we lost touch.'

The friend added that Mr Situ would be 'horrified' to learn that Wong had already been returned home, especially as he protested that she should originally have been given a 15-year jail sentence. 'Jian thought five years was too lenient. This is just an insult to Hugo's memory. What are they playing at, letting her out so early? They should have thrown away the key.'

Sir Andrew Green, chairman of the Migrationwatch think-tank, said: 'It is absolutely wrong in principle that criminals who thoroughly deserve to be deported should be paid for going. This should not happen at all.' A Home Office official confirmed there were two other voluntary schemes offering illegal immigrants incentives to return: one for individuals in the asylum system paying up to £4,000; and one for immigrants who have no right to be here but have not claimed asylum, paying out a maximum of £1,000.

that bitch This book is about the women you just wish you had NEVER met; the small number of women with NO conscience who target innocent men and women with TOO MUCH conscience. These women see their victims as having a character flaw that is there to be exploited. The book explores the lying, cheating, conniving and manipulation of women with malicious intent.

What are the everyday tricks of their tyrannical trade? How she claims to be the victim when she is the aggressor. And how this makes it far more difficult for genuine female victims to receive the help they need and deserve. The case studies in this book of how men are abused physically, financially, psychologically and even sexually, are truly shocking. Large numbers of men are stigmatised, ridiculed and disbelieved when they don t conform to society's male stereotype.

  • LANGLEY B.C.COPS SEEK FEMALE SERIAL GROIN KICKER AFTER SERIES OF ATTACKS
groin Police in Langley are investigating after a woman kicked a man in the groin so hard he lost a testicle -- the latest in a series of similar assaults.

"I just want to know what her problem is," victim Anthony Clark, 22, said this week. "People like her shouldn't be on the streets." Mr. Clark was walking in the Brookswood area of Langley in early September when he passed his assailant on the sidewalk. "I was looking down and then I took a passing glance and saw her walk up to me," he said.

That's when the young woman inexplicably kicked him in the groin hard enough to send one of his testicles into his abdomen. Mr. Clark said he wasn't aware of the severity of his injury until later that night when he "noticed something was missing." He consulted his doctor and a specialist, both of whom believed his testicle could be brought down again with surgery.

It wasn't until he woke up afterwards that he discovered the doctors were wrong - the force of the assault had caused his testicle to rupture. It had to be removed and will be replaced by a prosthetic before Christmas. "My doctors say I will still be able to have children," Mr. Clark said. "But at 22 that's not something I want a stranger, this woman, to decide." Embarrassed by the situation, Mr. Clark didn't go to the police until nearly four weeks after the attack.

Constables have told him there have been three or four similar assaults on other men, Mr. Clark said. Langley RCMP said they would like to speak to other victims, although there have been no official reported incidents, spokeswoman Const. Holly Marks said. The suspect is described as a Caucasian woman, in her late teens or early 20s. She was between five-foot-five and five-foot-seven and 130 pounds with a slim build and brown hair.

  • JURY HEARS HOW MOTHER ATTACKED SONS WITH KNIFE
michelle kehoe A mother's plot to blame a stranger for killing her sons went awry when one of the boys survived and told police how Michelle Kehoe cut his throat, then moved on to his younger brother, an Iowa prosecutor said Thursday.

Police found the 7-year-old covered in dried blood in the family van the morning of October 27, 2008, in a secluded area near a pond east of Littleton. Beside the van, his 2-year-old brother lay dead, his throat also slashed. "She cut me," the boy said in a high-pitched voice in an audio recording that was played Thursday in Kehoe's first-degree murder trial.

Kehoe, of Coralville, Iowa, has pleaded not guilty to charges of first-degree murder, attempted murder and child endangerment causing serious injury. Before the trial, her lawyers filed a notice of intent to present an insanity defense, according to court records. Kehoe's lawyers chose to reserve their opening arguments for the start of their case.

Dressed in a blue and white striped blouse, Kehoe frowned as she listened to her son's voice on the recording, occasionally bowing her head. The boy had locked himself in the van overnight after his mother slashed him and his younger brother the previous day and left them for dead, Assistant Iowa Attorney General Andrew Prosser said in his opening statement. Kehoe then walked to a nearby pond and attempted to kill herself by slashing her throat with the same weapon, a camouflage-handle Winchester hunting knife she bought the month before, Prosser said.

When it became apparent she was not going to die, the prosecutor said, she staggered half a mile down the road to the nearest home and told a story she'd concocted weeks before of how a stranger abducted the family, killed her sons and tried to kill her. But when authorities went searching for the stranger, they instead found her 7-year-old son in the car and his younger brother dead outside the driver's side.

"Do you know where you're injured at?" Deputy Stephen Peterson asked the boy in the recording.

"Just my throat," the boy said.

    "Who did that to you?"

    "My mom."

The boy said his mother also put duct tape over his eyes, nose and mouth, but that he pulled them off after his mother left him. "She was hurting my baby brother," he said.

Kehoe began plotting the attack the month before with the purchase of the knife and the duct tape, Prosser said. She allegedly chose the date of the incident to coincide with when her husband, Gene, was scheduled to take a yoga class, telling him they were going to visit her mother at a nursing home in Sumner. Police also say they found signs of a cover-up at the scene, including pieces of a first-aid kit scattered around the scene and a handwritten note documenting the attack, Prosser said. The note detailed how a man broke into the car when the family stopped at a gas station and forced them to the area where the van was found. Kehoe tried to fight him off with pepper spray but he knocked her unconscious, the note said, according to the prosecutor.

Police said Kehoe later told them she had written the note in the midst of the attack to explain what had happened to those who would find the scene, according to the prosecutor. "And the note, which you'll see, ends with, 'Oh no, here he comes again...' " Prosser told the jury. Kehoe faces life in prison without parole if convicted of first-degree murder for her son's death.

  • HOW HARMAN HAS DONE HUGE HARM TO WOMEN(AND EVEN MORE TO MEN)
harman Harriet Harman: The deputy leader's maternity leave proposals have been criticised by a top businesswoman

When Gordon Brown paid tribute to his ‘brilliant deputy leader’ Harriet Harman, he said ‘her Equality Bill will change Britain for ever’.Sadly, he may be right. Because in the real world her law will do nothing but damage the cause of women’s rights. It took one of Britain’s top businesswomen to speak the truth. Nichola Pease, deputy chairman of JO Hambro capital management and a mother of three, told a parliamentary hearing this week that Harman’s equal rights laws and the sex discrimination compensation culture it has spawned — with its ludicrous financial awards — are damaging women’s career chances.

But then what would Harriet Harman know about the dynamics of the workplace? The real workplace I mean, rather than the claustrophobic bubble of politics where she has spouted her obsessive feminism for the past 27 years. Ms Pease pointed out that the 12- month maternity leave proposed by Harman is doing untold damage to businesses, and thus women’s chances of employment. She also shattered the myth of the ‘glass ceiling’. Many women do not reach the top table not because of discrimination, she said, but because they chose to go only so far in their careers before consciously putting their family before their work. And thank heavens they do. Our country’s future depends on stable families.

The simple fact is, Ms Harman’s attempt to redesign the entire business world to suit her agenda has actually provoked far more prejudice than ever existed before. I know several bosses, male and female, who will not employ senior women now because of Ms Harman’s legislation. They simply cannot afford the risk of a sex discrimination case or the possibility of a new recruit taking a considerable period of time off on paid maternity leave, especially as companies struggle to cut costs in the recession.

The danger is that Harman’s laws will make more and more employers have the same doubts about all women, regardless of their personal circumstances. As a society we should be applauding women who do the crucial work of balancing work and family to raise healthy children in stable homes.

And we should reward those who put the hours and the years into their careers, whatever their gender, because business and the creation of wealth and jobs are as important to our future as our children. Feminist? Ms Harman is a zealot whom history will judge to have done more to hinder the progress of women in the 21st century than any Page 3 bimbo.

  • WIFE LURES HUSBAND TO WOODS, SLITS HIS THROAT TO MEET HER INTERNET LOVER
joanne hale A wife lured her husband into woodland on the promise of drug-fuelled sex then slit his throat and left him for dead so she could meet her internet lover, a court heard today.

Joanne Hale gave husband, Peter, a natural aphrodisiac called 'horny goat weed' before she blindfolded him and led him into nearby woods. The pair kissed, cuddled and 'rolled about on the leaves' as part of a 'playful game' to act out Hale's sexual fantasy. But the 39-year-old then straddled Peter as he lay face-down and slit his throat with a knife, leaving a 4.5-inch wound. She then plunged the blade into his neck and chest several times, a jury was told.

Hale left the 43-year-old for dead when she was disturbed by a passerby and drove to a nearby railway station to meet a man she met on the internet for the first time. Police arrested the woman when she returned to the marital home in Stapleton, Bristol, and she was charged with attempted murder and wounding with intent to cause GBH. Bristol Crown Court heard the incident happened on December 27 last year as the couple, who had been married for nine years, enjoyed the Christmas holidays.

They were watching TV when Hale suggested her husband take the sex drug 'horny goat weed' - also known as 'rowdy lamb herb'. Mr Hale told the jury: 'I think both of us discussed how to prepare it. Jo said it was quite unpalatable and I said I would like a drink with it. 'I think, probably, a migraine cap was put on my head; it was just a kind of sexual game. I enjoyed the game but I lifted it up because I want to see.' At about 6pm they left their home and walked to Stoke Park in the dark.

Peter said: 'We went through the kissing gates then on the cobbled path. I felt absolutely fine. 'Jo didn't like it around there; she believes in spiritual things, the paranormal, and she was getting bad vibes from it.' He said he believed a sexual act was about to take place because it was his wife's fantasy which they had never acted out. 'We had a cuddle and a bit of rolling about in the leaves,' he said.

'I was happy at that point. There was something involving a stick; I thought it was a playful game. It was a bit odd.' Peter told the court his memory is 'hazy' from this point onwards but he remembers seeing his wife and a man before waking up in hospital. The court heard that Hale came up behind her husband and slashed his throat with a knife and stabbed him several times in the neck and chest.

Hale was disturbed by passer-by Timothy Walker and left claiming she did not know who Peter was or what had happened to him. She then drove to Bristol Parkway railway station where she had arranged to pick up postal worker Philip Sudol, a man she had met on the internet. Hale allegedly told Sudol she was separated but her husband had injured himself and she would get the blame.

Peter and Hale, a published poet, had been pen pals before they married in February 2000 and moved in together. But the couple were affected by stress after Peter 'totally messed up' his studies for a PhD at the University of the West of England. Peter Hale was also due to be made redundant, the court was told.

Joanne Hale denies attempted murder and wounding with intent to cause GBH. The trial continues.

  • GIRL TOOK HER BABY MUGGING
maeve dennehy A TEENAGE single mum mugged two schoolgirls as her baby lay in its pram next to her, a court heard. Maeve Dennehy, 19, who is pregnant again, kicked the girls and held one in a wrestling-style leg lock before fleeing with their wallets, mobiles and bank cards. Dennehy was with a 14-year-old girl when she lashed out at the 13-year-olds for refusing to hand over their phones.

One girl was kicked as she lay on the floor in Sutton, Surrey. The other was also repeatedly kicked and had her necklace torn off. The attack was sparked by a "fit of rage, fuelled by drink" after Dennehy, from Carshalton, split up with the dad of her four-month-old child, Croydon Crown Court heard.

Dennehy admitted robbery. Judge Ruth Downing said: "Until this you were a young woman of good character. That said, it's not my function to assist you with the difficulties of having a baby as a teenager." Dennehy was given a suspended six-month sentence. Her co-defendant, who also pleaded guilty, got an eight-month referral order.

  • FEMALE TEACHER WAS A PREDATORY PAEDOPHILE WHO ABUSED 100 CHILDREN
carole clarke An apparently respectable woman teacher has been exposed as a 'predatory paedophile' who sexually assaulted children 100 times.

Carole Clarke, 46, has told police that she systematically attacked boys and girls over a 17-year period by following them into public toilets. The offences were primarily committed against youngsters aged between four and seven and she always acted alone, Grimsby Crown Court was told. Clarke, a part-time college tutor, is facing a lengthy jail sentence after pleading guilty to six charges on the day she was due to stand trial. She has been remanded in custody and will be sentenced on December 14.

Although the assaults dated back to 1992, Clarke was not arrested until January this year when a health worker raised concerns with police. The exact number of offences and victims is unknown but the court heard how Clarke told police she committed around 100 offences on a small number of children. She also admitted two counts of indecently assaulting a child during or before June 1992 and three charges of sexually assaulting a girl under 13 during or before August 2008.

One of the sexual assaults occurred in a public toilet in Grimsby's Market Hall, while two others occurred in public toilets in Woodhall Spa. Six other counts of sexual assault, which she denied, will remain on file. Clarke, who was reported after seeking help from mental health professionals, has been on remand since her arrest in January. Detective Sergeant Stewart Watson, of Humberside Police, said: 'Predatory paedophiles such as Carole Clarke are rare. There are claims between 5 per cent and 10 per cent of abuse against prepubescent children in the UK is committed by females.

'However, only about 5 per cent are thought to involve a woman acting alone. There are still those members of the public and even experts who ignore women's capacity for sexual abuse. 'Thankfully education is challenging these beliefs.'

Clarke worked as a part-time tutor for adult students at Franklin College in Grimsby between October 2003 and April 2007, and also taught adults from home. Principal Peter Newcome said: 'She was employed as a part-time tutor for adult learners, teaching English for speakers of another language. 'She taught very much in the open with people around and had no students under the age of 19.'

The case follows the shocking prosecution of nursery worker Vanessa George, 39, who admitted carrying out a string of child sex offences at Bristol Crown Court last week. Mother-of-two George, who worked at the Little Ted's Nursery in Plymouth, teamed up with Colin Blanchard, 38, and Angela Allen, 39, to form a paedophile ring after meeting on Facebook. The trio, who had never met until their appearance in court, carried out a series of sex attacks on young children and exchanged sickening images over the internet.

The case caused a national furore because it involved horrific abuse by a woman trusted to care for children. But the Lucy Faithfull Foundation, a child protection charity which deals with female sex offenders, said up to a fifth of paedophiles are women. Michele Elliott, director of charity Kidscape, said: 'The reality is women abuse. I think we have to acknowledge it for the sake of the children who are being abused.'

  • INDEPENDENCE? WOMEN RUE BECOMING WAGE SLAVES
    alg_unhappy_worker.jpg
    by Henry Makow Ph.D.

More than ever, women have a sense of betrayal and frustration because their "leaders" sold them on careers and being "strong and independent."

A new poll of nearly 4000 working women conducted by Women's Day, found that a stunning 57% dream of quitting their jobs to stay home with their kids and 63% viewed their work as "just a paycheck."

Two-thirds said they would "change what they do in a heartbeat." Four-fifths would NOT want their daughters to follow in their footsteps. Nevertheless two-thirds are worried about losing their jobs and would work longer hours just to keep them. (Talk about a wage slave.)

In 1950, less than 30% of the workforce were women. Today that number approaches 50%.
In 1956, 35% of all women worked. Today 60% or 72 million do. If the 1956 level had been maintained, 30 million American women would not be in the workforce today.  They would be looking after their families, their homes, their communities and themselves.

In spite of the obvious dissatisfaction of female working stiffs, their cultural caretakers are loath to admit that feminism was a trap. Their jobs depend on it. (More on this below) "Everyone hates to work," they rationalize.

My mother had a business importing watchstraps in the 1950's. My father asked her to give it up and concentrate on being a homemaker. He was able to support a young family on the salary of an engineer. My family reaped the benefit of a full-time mom.

The central banking cartel, led by the Rockefeller Foundation, decided to double the labor force (lowering wages); lower the birth-rate, and break up the family by convincing women to have careers and sex instead of husbands and children.  Feminism was the vehicle for this social engineering backed by propaganda disguised as "women's lib." Gender division is part of a long-term pattern of Illuminati subversion, which also includes inciting race, class, religious and national divisions.

Their goal in attacking marriage/family is to plug the wellsprings of our humanity and identity. Men and women were willing to sacrifice. They were willing to play roles which were noble and in tune with human nature. Now people are divorced from these roles and are lost. The bankers can control us better this way.

Occasionally a truly independent woman discovers these truths and is able to convey them. Recently Katie Rolphe wrote of the hedonistic pleasure of motherhood...the all-consuming love that threatens "everything you are and care about" -- which, in Roiphe's case, is her writing career. Suddenly, she doesn't want to go back to work; being with her newborn feels far more important and rewarding. "Taking care of the baby -- physical, draining, exhilarating -- is more like farming: following the rhythms of the earth, getting up at dawn, watching the corn flush in the sunrise. It is not at all like writing."

[I'm not suggesting women shouldn't work if they want to or have to. Obviously, they must be prepared to support themselves, and this requires training. My mother-in-law told my wife: "find a man who can look after you, but be prepared to look after yourself."]

SUBVERSION FROM THE TOP-THE NEW TEMPLATE

Wednesday, an article in the Huffington Post  explained how the Fed has taken over the field of Economics. As a result, there were few independent voices capable of criticizing the Fed (i.e. the central bankers) and avoiding the credit catastrophe of last Fall.  As you read the first few paragraphs, understand that this is a template for what has happened in every sector of society, every profession, every organization, including government, media and education. This is how they sold feminism. They control the money. They control everything through the people they buy off. This is the model of our enslavement.

"The Federal Reserve, through its extensive network of consultants, visiting scholars, alumni and staff economists, so thoroughly dominates the field of economics that real criticism of the central bank has become a career liability for members of the profession, an investigation by the Huffington Post has found.

This dominance helps explain how, even after the Fed failed to foresee the greatest economic collapse since the Great Depression, the central bank has largely escaped criticism from academic economists. In the Fed's thrall, the economists missed it, too.

"The Fed has a lock on the economics world," says Joshua Rosner, a Wall Street analyst who correctly called the meltdown. "There is no room for other views, which I guess is why economists got it so wrong."

One critical way the Fed exerts control on academic economists is through its relationships with the field's gatekeepers. For instance, at the Journal of Monetary Economics, a must-publish venue for rising economists, more than half of the editorial board members are currently on the Fed payroll -- and the rest have been in the past."

    CONCLUSION

It's remarkable that this article appeared. As the oppression administered by the central bankers increases, more of their dupes will get wise. Their ranks will be swelled by
millions of women (and men) deprived of their natural role and birthright. There will be a great division in society between the central bankers with their legions of lackeys, and humanity as a whole.

Feminism is one of countless hoaxes designed by Illuminati central bankers to enslave humanity by creating wars, plagues, and depressions while generally degrading and demoralizing mankind. The world wars, the Cold War, 9-11, the war on terror were all engineered by them. They belong to a satanic cult, the Sabbateans, and their influence is now pervasive and overwhelming. We need to wake up before it is too late.

  • VANESSA GEORGE REVEALS THE HIDDEN FACE OF FEMALE DEPRAVITY
THE RADICAL FEMINIST MEN HATERS ARE DECIDELY QUIET ON THIS HORRENDOUS CASE

Like so many, I've been absolutely appalled by the horrific nature of the Plymouth nursery abuse case: but I have not been surprised. As a former detective specialising in child protection and now as a private consultant in the same field, I've got 20 years of experience telling me that this was an outrage waiting to happen. Ask anyone to describe their idea of a paedophile and almost all of them will begin with the word 'he'.

But that's simply not always correct, as this case has made so shockingly clear. Yes, the vast majority of paedophiles are men but even official estimates admit that 6 to 10 per cent of them are women. Yet I believe those figures seriously under-estimate the true extent of female paedophilia; a more accurate estimate could be 15 to 20 per cent and, thanks to the internet, that figure could be rising. The idea of women sexually abusing children in their charge is abhorrent to us all. How can it possibly be true?

But it is true, albeit in only a very small number of cases, and made easier for these women by the fact that they have access to children and, perhaps, most importantly of all, because we trust them implicitly. And that, in turn, makes it so much more difficult for their young victims to raise the alarm. If a child came back from nursery complaining about a man having done something unusual to them, our suspicions would be raised in an instant. But if they come back saying the nice, plump, smiley girl who looks after them has done something odd, we'd immediately assume our child had simply got the wrong end of the stick. Until the sordid events of this week.

I believe the sexual abuse of children by women is such an under-reported crime - by and large, we simply don't believe it happens. But, as we all now know, it does. There are, however, some key differences in the way male and female paedophiles behave, as this case shows. Women seem to be abusing much younger children, even babies, and, unlike their male counterparts, they nearly always do so in cahoots with another male or female.

And that's because the motivation isn't usually their own sexual gratification - although in a few truly deviant cases it may be - they are seeking the approval of their partner-in-crime. The email detailing a plot to abduct a child from a railway station showed this --Vanessa George did what she did to earn the approval, even respect of the evil couple egging her on. Perhaps for the first time in her life, her ability to supply these awful images made her feel powerful and wanted.

The case also confirms some of my darkest fears about the internet. Not only does it make it clear that there is the strongest possible link between viewing child pornography online and a child being abused for real, it shows what a horrifyingly powerful tool the internet has become in bringing sexually deviant minds together. Before the internet, it might have taken a paedophile like Colin Blanchard decades to find a woman who not only shared his sexual interest in children but was prepared to facilitate it. Now two such women proved to be only a couple of clicks away.

Given that female paedophiles prefer to act as part of a partnership or team, that's a hugely worrying development. What the Plymouth case makes clear is that a lot more research needs to be done into female paedophiles. The vast majority of male paedophiles caught by police on the internet have no previous convictions. Police find, on average, they will have been attempting to abuse children, or viewing online child pornography for six years and in 70 per cent of cases will have abused between one and five different children. Do the same statistics apply to female paedophiles? We don't know but given that Vanessa George had no criminal record we certainly need to find out.

  • DERANGED HARMAN'S FEMINIST AGENDA
harman feminis In the same week Rekha Kumari-Baker is jailed for stabbing her two children to death we get this from man hater Harman. Even women in this article totally disagree with Harman who can only be described as a DERANGED LAWYER looking after crooked lawyers bank balances and NOT the women they use to fleece the men victims of corrupt family courts .

Lessons about wife-beating at five: In the week Harriet Harman takes charge, yet another feminist initiative

Pupils as young as five will be taught about the evils of 'wife beating' and the need to form healthy relationships. The lessons are part of a controversial drive, unveiled today, to reduce violence against women and young girls. They will include teaching boys that they must not beat their partners or any other female. Harriet Harman, pictured getting her nails painted at The Vibe youth club in Dagenham, Essex, wants women and girls to feel safe in their own homes and communities

Healthy relationships: Harriet Harman, pictured yesterday getting her nails painted at a youth club, wants women and girls to feel safer Last night, critics warned that ministers are cramming the already over-stuffed National Curriculum with lessons that should be taught in the home or in the community. Others say the plan is part of the feminist agenda led by Harriet Harman in her role as Equalities Minister.

They pointed out the new classes will not cover violence against men, who are far more likely to be the victims of violent crime. In the past few days alone, Miss Harman has blamed men for the banking crisis, and suggested the Labour Party should always have a female in one of its top two posts.

Officials confirmed that today's document - Saving Lives, Reducing Harm, Protecting the Public - is not simply a Home Office report, but is a 'cross-Government initiative'. Miss Harman was due to be involved in its launch, before becoming embroiled in a Whitehall row over rape laws.

Under controversial plans, schoolboys will be taught not to beat their partners or any other female Feminist agenda: Under controversial plans, schoolboys will be taught not to beat their partners or any other female The most eye-catching proposal in the document is the one to force schools to introduce statutory lessons in 'educating children and young people about healthy, nonviolent relationships'. The lessons will be part of the National Curriculum and are likely to be taught in Personal, Social and Health Education classes, which are attended by children from the age of five.

Teachers will also be given new guidance on tackling 'gender bullying'.

Margaret Morrissey, of family lobby group ParentsOutloud, said that PSHE classes were in danger of being 'hijacked by pressure groups'. She added: 'I do not really want my youngster to be indoctrinated with these things.

'There will always be those who want to cram our school curriculum with social issues that need to be taught by parents and society.' And Nick Gibb, the Tory schools spokesman, said: 'If advice about relationships is not already included in compulsory PSHE lessons then what is the point of having those lessons at all? 'Ministers need to be conscious of bolting on extras to the curriculum to grab a cheap headline and must remember that for everything they add, something else will be taken away.' The Government claims that violence against women is costing Britain an astonishing £40billion. (THAT WOULD BE THE AMOUNT HARMAN AND HER FELLOW LAWYERS MAKE IN CORRUPT FAMILY COURTS THAT SHE PROMOTES AND WE NOW HAVE PROOF LAWS ARE BEING MADE UP BY THE CORRUPT JUDGES WHO CONTROL THEM)

It has emerged they are carrying out five separate reviews into the causes and how women can be better protected. This is despite evidence showing that boys and young men are more than twice as likely to fall victim to violence, and that young women are becoming increasingly aggressive. In a document peppered with the language of Miss Harman's equalities-agenda, the Government says the first ever Violence Against Women and Girls strategy is in production by departments across Whitehall, and will be published this autumn.

It declares: 'Our vision is a society where women and girls feel safe and confident in their homes and communities so that they can develop fully, live freely, contribute to society, and prosper in their daily lives. We want to overcome women's and girls' fear of crime and the gender-based violence that they experience.' As well as the lessons, the already stretched Health Service has been ordered to conduct studies into how it can improve treatment of women at risk of violence, and police must carry out a review of domestic violence incidents.

Perpetrators: There has been a massive rise in the number of women arrested for violent assaults Separately, Dr Linda Papadopoulous is carrying out a 'fact-finding review of the sexualisation of girls and links to violence'. All will report back later this year, and lead to the publication of an action plan. It comes despite a separate Whitehall action plan on youth crime last month warning that girls needed to be targeted with special lessons to stop them being the aggressors in violent crimes - not the victim.

A quarter of all violent assaults in England and Wales are carried out by women, and it is the most common reason for females to be arrested, recently overtaking theft and handling stolen goods. Police figures reveal a massive rise in the number of women arrested for 'violence against the person' offences which more than doubled from 37,000 ten years ago to 88,000 last year. Jill Kirby, of the Centre for Policy Studies, said Miss Harman and the Government should not be creating the impression violent crime is men against women, when the statistics show this is not the case.

She added: 'It is young men who are most likely to be the victims of violent crime. It is a distortion to suggest otherwise. It appears that everything must be viewed through the prism of 1960s feminism.' It came as the Government prepared to announce the introduction of new Violent Offender Orders for wife beaters and other violent thugs being released from jail. The thugs will be forced to sign a violent offenders' equivalent of the Sex Offender Register, and could face five years in jail if they do not keep the police informed of any changes to their address, or break any other terms of the order. Shadow Home Secretary Chris Grayling said: 'This Government answers every problem with another review instead of actually taking real action to get to grips with violent crime and its causes.'

  • WHY I LOATHE FEMINISM AND BELIEVE IT WILL ULTIMATELY DESTROY THE FAMILY
    erin pizzey By Erin Pizzey

ERIN PIZZEY set up the world's first refuge for battered women in 1971 - and went on to establish an international movement for victims of domestic violence. But what she has never made public before is that her own childhood was scarred by the shocking cruelty of both her parents. Here, for the first time, she tells the full harrowing story - and how it led her to a surprising, but deeply felt, conclusion ...

Though I remember little of my earliest years, I grew up in a world of extraordinary violence. I was born in 1939 in Tsingtao, China, and shortly after my family moved to Shanghai with my diplomat father, we were captured by the invading Japanese army. It was 1942, the war was raging and we were held under house arrest until we were exchanged for Japanese prisoners of war and put on the last boat out of China. My father was ordered to Beirut by the diplomatic service, and we were left as refugees in Kokstad, South Africa. From living in an enormous house with a fleet of servants and a nanny, my twin sister Rosaleen and I were suddenly at the mercy of my mother Pat's temper. And it was ferocious. Having escaped the brutality of the war, we were introduced to a new brand domestic cruelty. Indeed, my mother's explosive temper and abusive behaviour shaped the person I later became like no other event in my life.

Thirty years later, when feminism exploded onto the scene, I was often mistaken for a supporter of the movement. But I have never been a feminist, because, having experienced my mother's violence, I always knew that women can be as vicious and irresponsible as men. Indeed, I would go so far as to say that the movement, which proclaimed that all men are potential rapists and batterers, was based on a lie that, if allowed to flourish, would result in the complete destruction of family life. From the very beginning, I waged war against my mother and quickly learned to disassociate myself from the pain of her beatings.

Her words, however, stayed with me all my life. 'You are lazy, useless, and ugly,' she would scream. 'You look like your father's side of the family - Irish trash.' They were vicious words that I have heard repeated over and over by mothers everywhere. Indeed, when I later opened my refuge for battered women, 62 of the first 100 to come through the door were as abusive as the men they had left. She was, however, right: I did look like my father, Cyril. While my twin sister was slim and had long dark hair, and my mother's deep blue eyes, I was fat and fair-haired, clumsy, noisy and brash. I was only five but I knew my mother didn't like me

I was only five years old, but I knew my mother didn't like me. And with no servants to restrain her now, she lashed out whenever she felt like it. When we finally joined my father in a flat in Beirut, I soon realised that he was no saint either. He would constantly scream and rage at all of us. He was particularly consumed by jealousy. Even though he verbally abused my mother and rarely showed her affection, he seemed compelled to follow her around like a guard dog.

If she spoke on the telephone, he grilled her until she burst into tears. If she went out shopping, he paced the room until she got back and exploded with rage if she were more than a few minutes late. I hated my father with all my childish heart - and was truly terrified by him. He was 6ft 4in tall, massively built and had a huge paunch that hung over his belt. He stared out of piggy, pale blue eyes and had a big sloppy mouth that slobbered over my lips when he kissed me. He didn't believe in baths, which he said were 'weakening', and smoked tins of Players Cigarettes, which made him smell like an ashtray. His rages were explosive and unpredictable.

Fresh-faced: Erin Pizzey, founder of the domestic violence charity Refuge, pictured here when she aged just 11 But despite his clumsy, predictable form of macho brutality - born out of his being the 17th child of a violent Irish father - it was my mother's more emotional, verbal form of abuse that scarred me most deeply. She indulged in a particular kind of soul murder - and it was her cruelty that, even 60 years on, still reduces me to tears and leaves me convinced that feminism is a cynical, misguided ploy.

Unfortunately, at that time, what I wanted more than anything was for my mother to love me - something I never felt she truly did. And so, when my father was posted to Chicago, and I followed my mother to Toronto, to live with my godparents, I was initially hopeful. I believed that without my father's presence, she would have the time be a real mother. But once in the bosom of this normal family, my own dysfunctional behaviour soon became apparent. I had, it seems, already been too badly damaged by my mother's hatred of me. I was always in trouble at school, encouraging the other children to behave as badly as I did. On one occasion, I was caught sitting on the doorstep giving away the money I'd stolen from my mother's bag. Needless to say, my mother went berserk. She took me upstairs and beat me with an ironing cord until the blood ran down my legs. I showed my injuries to my teacher the next morning - but she just stared back impassively and did nothing.

Many years later, when feminists started demonising all fathers, these stark images continually reminded me of the truth - that domestic violence is not a gender issue. She beat me until the blood ran down my legs Shortly after the war, my father was posted to Tehran and we all went to live with him. It was only when I saw him again that I remembered how much I hated him.

He would come home from the office, and as he put the key in the door I would freeze. I would often hear him coughing outside the door - he was still a heavy smoker - and spitting phlegm into the flower bed. His eyes were windows into his violent moods. If they were narrowed and red, I knew he was in a rage and it would only be a matter of time before he erupted. But my hatred of my father was pure and uncontaminated by any other emotions. My feelings about my mother, however, were far more complicated.

As much as I was devastated by her hatred of me, I still genuinely strove for her love. In fact, I had moments of great compassion for her when I saw her weeping and wailing in front of my father. Occasionally, she fought back against his brutality. She was only 4ft 9in, but my mother was extremely strong and her tongue was lethal. She accused him of being an oaf and an idiot. She called his mother a prostitute and his father a common Irish drunk. Unsurprisingly, my brother and sister were both withdrawn and silent children. My sister suffered from headaches, weeping eczema and mysterious days of paralysis when she was unable to get up from her bed.

To outsiders, my father was a genial, intelligent man and my mother a famous party hostess with three beautiful children and a perfect diplomatic family. In fact, my parents were both violent, cruel people and we were all deeply damaged. In 1949, my father was posted back to Tien Sien, in China. I was left with my twin sister in a boarding school - Leweston, near Sherborne in Dorset - and my brother accompanied my parents. Very shortly after they took up their post, however, my parents were captured again - this time by the communists - and held under house arrest for three years.

Without them, I felt an abiding sense of peace and loved my holidays at St Mary's in Uplyme, a holiday home for children whose parents were abroad. Miss Williams, who ran the place, was the first adult that I really admired and respected. She became my mentor. But this idyll was shattered when I heard that my parents had been released. I remember being called to the telephone in the convent to speak to my mother. I had completely blotted my parents out of my life and so when I heard her Canadian accent, I just screamed down the phone. 'You're not my mother!' I yelled, all too aware that the whole circus was about to start again.

When my mother first returned, to a house outside Axminster, we enjoyed an uneasy truce. I was much taller than her now, and too big for her to batter. Instead, she began to list my father's faults, and the atrocities he had inflicted on us all, as if I were now her confidante. She would tell me how much she hated him and that they never should have married. 'But I stayed for you,' she told me. 'I stayed because I wanted you to go to a private school and enjoy a comfortable way of life.' I took the decision that I would have to stab my father

Once again, she was unleashing her peculiar brand of emotional cruelty, and placing all the responsibility - and guilt - on me. It was a pattern of behaviour I would witness again and again among some of the women in my refuge. The day my father was due to join us in the new house, my mother was a nervous wreck. She was crying and clinging on to me, demanding that I protect her. 'I don't want him anywhere near me,' she said. In dysfunctional families, children, no matter how badly they are treated, will try to take on the parenting role. For me, this still meant protecting and comforting my mother.

And so, on the night of my father's return, I took a large carving knife from the kitchen and went up to my parents' bedroom, which I peered into through a gap in the door. They slept in separate, single beds and I took the extraordinary decision that I would stab him if he tried to force himself on her. I was, on reflection, following my mother's unspoken orders. Remarkably, she had manipulated me to such a degree that I was now willing to murder for her. My father certainly tried to talk his way into her bed. Fortunately, however, he didn't become physical. If he had, he would now be dead and my life would have turned out very differently.

In the 1950s, while I was working in Hong Kong, my mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer. I returned to our house near Axminster - and found my father unchanged. By now, he was trying to force my mother to sign her money - she had received a sizeable inheritance from her father - over to him. Week after week, in the local cottage hospital, she refused, and week after week, he ranted and raved at her while she writhed in pain. I begged the nurses to stop him, but they said no one could come between a man and his wife. At first, my mother refused to believe she was dying. But when my father finally broke her down, and bullied her into signing the papers, her life began to ebb away in earnest. She died on September 16, 1958, and my father had the body brought home and placed in the dining room. That night, as she lay next door, we sat down to have supper at the table in the hall. He made us stand vigil over her visibly decomposing body

After supper, my father ordered us into the dining room, where my mother's open coffin was draped with a red cloth. My brother, sister and I begged my father not to remove the cloth, but when we closed our eyes for a moment to say a prayer for her, we opened them to be confronted by her pale face. I vividly remember that there was cotton wool sticking out of her nose. Every night, we would stand vigil over my mother's body, and every night she would be exposed to the humiliation of having her children see her visibly decomposing. At last, six days later, my father buried her. I left home the next day and only saw him once more - when I took his ashes to my mother's grave in 1982.

I only decided to talk about my traumatic childhood last week - on a BBC radio programme called The House Where I Grew Up - but I decided long ago I would not repeat the toxic lessons I learned as a child. Instead, I would become a survivor. Feminism, I realised, was a lie. Women and men are both capable of extraordinary cruelty. Indeed, the only thing a child really needs - two biological parents under one roof - was being undermined by the very ideology which claimed to speak up for women's rights. This country is now on the brink of serious moral collapse. We must stop demonising men and start healing the rift that feminism has created between men and women. Harriet Harman's insidious and manipulative philosophy that women are always victims and men always oppressors can only continue this unspeakable cycle of violence. And it's our children who will suffer.

  • RADICAL FEMINIST PROPAGANDA DISTRACTS ATTENTION FROM WOMAN MURDERERS
    rekha kumari-baker

There has been a massive rise in radical feminist propaganda in the corporate media recently . It is most noticeable when there has been a lot of media attention over women murderers. If its not rape, its domestic violence or the usual tactics that smear men by the jack boot lesbians running the hate men women's movement. The radical feminists are definitely using a tactic of distracting attention away from news this week about the mother who stabbed to death her two children to get back at her boyfriend.

Double murder mother jailed until 2040

Rekha Kumari-Baker jailed for 33 years at Cambridge Crown Court

Davina and Jasmine Baker were found dead at their home. Rekha Kumari-Baker (inset) has been jailed A mother who murdered her two daughters to get back at her husband has been sentenced to jail for 33 years. Rekha Kumari-Baker, 41, attacked Davina Baker, 16, and Jasmine Baker, 13, at her home in Stretham, Cambridgeshire, in the early hours of June 13 2007.

Yesterday a jury of seven women and five men took just 35 minutes to find Kumari-Baker guilty of murder rather than manslaughter following a two-week trial at Cambridge Crown Court. Kumari-Baker stabbed Davina 37 times and Jasmine 29 times with kitchen knives bought from an Asda supermarket. After the hearing, Kumari-Baker's ex-husband David Baker described the killings as "an act of calculated viciousness".

Jurors heard that Kumari-Baker's marriage broke down about five years before she killed the girls. The court was told she was upset because her relationship with a boyfriend had ended and she did not like Mr Baker's new girlfriend. Prosecutors said she killed the children to "wreak havoc" on Mr Baker.

In a witness impact statement Mr Baker said: "Having them taken away from me in such a brutal way and by the woman who was their mother... has had an incalculable effect." He added: "I am haunted by the horror of the events of that night and probably will remain so for a very long time."

  • RADICAL FEMINISM AND HOW DID IT COME TO THIS?
feminazi2 How did it come to this?

A friend of mine told me recently "I would almost like to see a feminist government. Put Harman in charge of the country for 10 years and let's see what happens. But let's emigrate first", he laughed. In fact, it looks to me as if that experiment has already been done. The New Left have been in charge of the country now for 12 years. It is difficult to understand how a more catastrophic set of outcomes could have been arrived at. Are they criminally incompetent, or are they actually on a mission to destroy the country? It seems there is some of each.

The former Home Office entry clearance officer Steve Moxon, in his book 'The Great Immigration Scandal', reveals that New Labour, in its first term, actually set out to destroy the character of traditional British national identity, and used unrestricted mass immigration as an instrument to achieve this. Destroying British national identity was actually government policy. If Moxon's claim is correct, then that is deeply shocking, almost treasonable. Be that as it may, there has certainly been a large measure of incompetence at work too. Estelle Morris famously resigned as Education Secretary, admitting that she was not up to the job. If only the rest of them were as honest as her. Whether cock-up or conspiracy, the fact is that men, and poor men in particular, have been adversely affected by a collection of social, political and economic forces in the last three decades amounting almost to a perfect storm. These can be summarised under four basic headings:

1 The collapse of the family.

The collapse of the family was largely engineered by the feminist-led New Left, after 1968. I have discussed this in more detail elsewhere. Briefly, the Left has regarded the family as oppressive to women, and as politically subversive, since at least the 1840s, when Marx's collaborator Engels wrote 'The Origin of the Family, Private Property and the State'. The 1960s saw the industrialisation of the service sector, leading to the advent of many new safe, female-friendly jobs, at the same time as the advent of the pill and legal abortion. Rising working class wages and the new consumer boom meant that for the first time, women were freed from their traditional duties of housework and childcare, and there were jobs for them to go to, which, thanks to mass education, they were able to do. This led to a new independence for Western women, which was of course a good thing.

The feminist movement was not the cause of these changes. The pill, mass education and the rise of the service sector had more to do with it. The feminist movement was a response to these radically changed circumstances. However, ideological movements being what they are, the feminist movement claimed responsibility. As Orwell said in 1984, after the Revolution, the Party rewrote history to claim that it had invented the helicopter, the machine gun, the train and so on. We are simply seeing the same thing here. Women were dislodged from their traditional roles by these far-reaching changes, and sought a way of making sense of what was going on around them. The resurgent feminist movement was a consequence of these changes, not the cause of them. Unfortunately, the feminist movement embraced a whole set of bad ideas. Marxism. Psychoanalysis. That was perhaps pretty much all that there was available at the time. The feminist movement started claiming that the reason their grandmothers had not enjoyed the same benefits that they themselves enjoyed was that their grandmothers had been living under the oppressive yoke of male tyranny. In fact, the opposite was the case. The technical advances which had liberated women by 1970 were designed and built by men, as usual. Instead of admitting this, the feminist movement claimed that it had wrested freedom by force from the savage jaws of Patriarchy. This was utter nonsense, but women do like a feel-good story. They turned back to Engels, and decided that the family was the source of their 'oppression'.

It was then that people like Germaine Greer started preaching 'divorce as revolution'. Married women were encouraged to abandon their husbands and get divorced. Single women were encouraged not to get married, not to have children, not to form traditional families, and preferably to become lesbians. With feminists increasingly penetrating the institutions of government, changes in the law quickly followed. Divorce became easier, and settlements became more favourable to women. Forty years on, women now hold all - and I mean all - the cards in the family courts. Fathers have been forcibly driven from the family, and women have abandoned their own responsibilities, producing a generation of children left to fend for themselves. These children are the teenagers who will mug you, stab you, or burgle your house. These children are the products of the divorce revolution, the bastard offspring of Germaine Greer and the catastrophic failures of the feminist movement.

2 The collapse of male industrial employment.

We have all heard stories about the horrors of the Industrial Revolution, when little boys were forced to climb up chimneys to clean them, or of pregnant women working in coal mines, the kind of social horrors that Dickens described in his novels. These practices were eventually outlawed in England by the Factory Acts of the 19th Century, which banned women and children from working in dangerous industrial conditions. The result was that men had to be paid a 'family wage', sufficient to support the entire family alone, while the women stayed safely at home. This legislation was passed purely as a humanitarian effort to improve the lives of women and children. It also determined the character of socio-economic life in Britain for a century to come. My own father worked in a factory in the 1970s, while my mother stayed at home. By then, however, massive forces were at work which meant that this apparently stable pattern was about to come to an end. Globalisation meant that manufacturing work could be done more cheaply abroad. Margaret Thatcher's government deliberately closed down manufacturing industry in a largely-justified attempt to rein in the Communist-dominated trade unions during the Cold War. This meant that traditional sources of male employment were disappearing rapidly.

At the same time, as I mentioned above, the rise of the service sector produced many new jobs for which women were ideally suited. Again the feminist movement falsely claimed that it had wrested the Right to Work from the Patriarchy's cold, dead hand. You never hear a feminist mentioning the Factory Acts. They much prefer a conspiracy theory. Their mothers hadn't worked in factories because evil men had prevented them from doing so. The entry of women into the workplace in large numbers drove down wages. The notion of a family wage became a thing of the past. These changes in working practices were the result of profound economic and technological changes. The principal beneficiaries were middle-class women; the principal losers were working-class men. Indeed, there is no longer any such thing as 'the working class' of old. Now there is just the middle-class and the under-class.

3 The collapse of the education system.

I have discussed education at some length in other articles. Education was a traditional route out of poverty for many, including myself. In the early 20th century, the Left had demanded free education for all in order to overcome working-class children's disadvantage. Early feminists had demanded that girls be given the same educational opportunities as boys. After the post-WWII reconstruction, these dreams had largely become a reality, with bright working class children being able to attend grammar schools and universities on an equal footing with their more privileged peers. The post-1968 New Left, unfortunately, decided to destroy the very education system that most of them had benefited from. They have systematically undermined education for the last forty years. They have watered down traditional educational values, condemning them as elitist. They have decried core subjects such as science and mathematics as ‘masculine linear thinking’, and undermined their position in the curriculum. They have rubbished the icons of Western intellectual history as ‘dead white European males’, but failed to replace them with anything.

They have undermined the authority of teachers, driving men out of the profession by means of an organised campaign of moral panic over paedophiles. They have undermined discipline in schools, and removed any trace of competitive activity in case those who do not perform so well might feel bad about themselves. They have sought to rig the system so that all children have the same educational outcomes, holding back the brightest, while artificially promoting the least able.

This has been a national catastrophe. Everyone has suffered the consequences, but it has been boys in particular who have been the principal losers. The result is that 63% of poor white boys are unable to read and write properly at 14. As white males, they do not fit into any politically correct interest group which would entitle them to support; as poor and low-status males, they are simply beneath the dignity of the middle-class women who set the political agenda. Their lives just don't matter.

4 The collapse of traditional male culture.

A friend of mine is the father of two children, a boy and a girl, both around 10 or 11. They wanted to join a youth organisation, so he looked around his local area. He found that there were the Scouts and the Guides. The Scouts is open to both boys and girls. The Guides is open to girls. There is no youth organisation which caters only to boys. This is only one small example. The same trend is repeated in every walk of life across Britain today. This erosion of male institutions, the denial that males have any rights or any unique interests, is the result of decades of systematic attack on men by the feminist movement. It is unthinkable that there might be a male-only organisation, a place where females cannot enter. The reverse, however, is perfectly acceptable. There are all-female gym classes, swimming lessons, colleges, schools, taxi services, language classes, you name it. These feminists think it is very amusing to 'get one over on the blokes'. What they don't seem to have realised is that the consequences are going to blow up in their faces eventually. Whether it is in being mugged by a 14-year-old, having your car broken into, being unable to find a suitable partner, growing old alone and childless, or just being taxed through the nose to pay for prisons and social workers, there is always a price to pay. Social breakdown is very, very expensive. Be careful what you wish for. You might just get it.
